On Wednesday November 12th, 2014, Ajarn Yayus Mak’s students in International Marketing 2014 had the pleasure of attending a guest lecture by Mr. Umesh Phadke, Managing Director of L'oreal Thailand, Laos, and Cambodia.
In this rare in-class opportunity, Mr. Phadke talked about what L’Oreal stands for and how it has been built both globally and locally. Engaging both Thai and International students, he gave valuable insights into L’Oreal’s “universalization of beauty” strategy, the dynamic of beauty market in Thailand, as well as the key success factors that have driven the success of L’Oreal in Thailand.
Drawing from his 20 years of experience managing businesses across Asia for Procter & Gamble, GlaxoSmithKline, and L'Oreal as well as his expertise in general management, sales and marketing, and change management for regional brands like Pantene, Gillette, Sensodyne, L'Oreal, Garnier, Lancome, Biotherm, Maybelline, and Vichy, Mr. Phadke shared his insights with the students on what makes a good manager. After listening to Mr. Phadke’s valuable presentation in International Marketing, students were greatly inspired and grateful for the learning opportunity.
Ajarn Yayus Mak teaches International Marketing for BBA International Program, Chulalongkorn Business School. In this course, Thai and International undergraduate students bring out their analytical skills, creative energy, and intellectual curiosity in an interactive and cross-cultural problem-solving environment. Students learn actively and dynamically via cases, discussions, group projects, and guest lecturers who expose them to real-world challenges and opportunities. Ltd have contributed their time, shared their knowledge, and showed tremendous support for Ajarn Yayus’ passion in helping young global citizens think, do, and contribute better for a pragmatic, cooperative, and sustainable society through quality learning and education.
