On September 8, 2017, Ni & Co., the representative team from BBA Chulalongkorn University, won the first runner-up title at NUS-SP Group Case Competition 2017, at the National University of Singapore (NUS) Business School, Singapore.

The case competition is regarded as Asia’s Premier Case Competition, featuring students from 16 leading universities around the world, such as the University of Southern California, University of Hong Kong, Peking University, UC Berkeley, to name a few.

The case competition is famed for its unknown case format, where teams do not know the format until the night before case cracking. It was revealed to be a 38-hour case, where we were challenged with identifying how SP Group, a leading utilities provider, could remain relevant to Singapore consumers, in light of electricity market liberalization in mid-2018.

On behalf of the team, we would like to express our sincerest appreciation to the BBA International Program, Chulalongkorn University, for providing us with this valuable opportunity, and Case Club Chulalongkorn for the support and trainings. We also thank Ajarn Dr. Roongkiat Ratanabanchuen, our Team Advisor, for his kind support and guidance, both prior to and during the case competition.

Below are the thoughts of our members:
